Golf Car FAQs

  • Q: Should I run my batteries until they are empty or should I charge them after every use?
A: Golf car batteries operate to their fullest ability when they are charged after every use.  Running  batteries down low shortens the life span of the battery and also puts strain on the electrical components of the drivetrain.  Not having enough power to turn the motor over makes the motor, controller, FNR switch, and solenoid work harder.
  • Q: How often do I need to water my batteries?
A: You should at least check your batteries monthly. Make sure the water covers the lead plates and the more often you use the golf car, the more often you should check the batteries. Be sure not to overfill the batteries and use distilled water only. Check your battery manufacturer’s website for specifics in regards to how to care for your them.
